MALA - where alcohol enforcement, producers, and distributors can share ideas and make the industry safer and better. Membership provides opportunities for you to network and collaborate with your colleagues across the industry.
Once a year, MALA members meet in Ocean City, MD for a two-day conference. We participate in discussions and interactive activities discussing cutting-edge topics - alcohol trade practices, underage drinking prevention, human trafficking, and more.
And for the first time in 2019, we convened the Maryland Training Academy - an event co-sponsored by the Maryland Office of the Comptroller and MALA. The one-day training provided participants with opportunities to take deeper dives.
MALA conducts surveys among its members on alcohol trade practices, fake IDs, server training, alcohol enforcement, and legislative agendas. Gain access to these surveys once you become a MALA member.
Why re-invent the wheel? Our members have created presentations and other adaptable training tools which can be accessed on our Members-only page.
Alcohol licensing practices vary from community-to-community, and we can learn from each other as we navigate the nuances of the law. MALA provides a platform to talk about legislative agendas and how they may impact the way we do business.
In Maryland, alcohol enforcement varies from county-to-county because local jurisdictions are responsible for administering alcohol licensing practices. MALA provides a platform to communicate with the alcohol enforcement community across the state. That's a win-win if you're looking to expand your business into Maryland communities.
